[Fang-less!]

~ ~

mngt

Yes, fang-less.  The newly released "Twilight" has dashed my hopes to see this phenomenon saga do well on the silver screen. All I've got is a typical, weak, corny movie-  a far cry from what's in the books. I am a bit (not entirely) upset with was put out.

I am one of gazillion of readers out there who fell in Love with the Twilight saga, and throughout the year, we've been patiently waiting for this movie to come out, and follow every single trailers and spoilers of the movie, the official ones also the fans-made. I put Paramore's "Decode" on the 'repeat' mode on my iTunes to cure the yearning towards the movie. And million of readers out there, who has bought the album movie soundtracks, MONTHS before the movie was due for release. Geez!

twilight1

The script was weak, weak, weak!  Kristen Stewart's (Bella) narration throughout the movie irritates me, big time. The script and the scenes were not effectively and properly elaborated. And you should properly watch the faces of the vampires; I can vividly see their make-up lines! I know that the ( hot) vampires should be milky pale, cold and blah, blah, blah, but they should properly do the make-ups! The milky pale,  with pink lips Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) looks like those junkies model in Calvin Klein ads. And Bella's MAS luggage bags under her eyes, were vividly seen (maybe Edward consumed too much make-ups, nothing left for Bella). And not to forget, the scene when Edward revealed his darkest secret in the woods, and show Bella how his skin will look like under the sunlight; it was unforgivable. What's the heck with the cheap-glittery-fairy-tale effects? God.

picnik-collage2

The main character in this movie is EDWARD CULLEN. He was described as a handsome, unblemished,  rich, good-looking, and very attractive young man with impeccable, perfect fashion sense (see how many times I use the Adjectives?) And the Edward Cullen in the movie was poles apart from what was portrayed in the books. Edward, in the movie, clad in the same, boring, dull gray peacoat and worn-out jeans. Urgh!

It's a BLAH!

I can't type about this any longer. I need a good sleep. I'm frustrated! and I mean it. Maybe I should continue by typing the positive parts of the movie tomorrow.

p.s: Maybe I should wait and leave this movie review-ing task to Hafriz. I sound so silly and totally suck in this.
p.s.s: I put Paramore's "Decode" with 'repeat' mode on. Again.

Subject: She's Everywhere, peeps!

Now, click to stream her next performance at X-Factor show in the UK. She looks uh-mazing, I must say. No golden globe on stage this time around, but she still nailed the show! Simon 'blabbermouth' Cowel and the other udges gave her a standing ovation. Owh. Seriously, what else do you want from that Silly Simon? A standing ovation. Period.

She's everywhere, and she shows no sign of slowing down, people. Hahaha!

5/5 (again!)

[Twilight]

twilight-71671Two more days before I hit the cinema and watch the movie. Two more days. I can't wait any longer, and maybe I should buy another one ticket for the following day, yes? Twilight has totally changed the definition of chic-flic, and before this, I would feel a bit embarrass by reading books that fall under such genre, but I've totally made up my mind regarding it.

To the Twilight guys out there, there are rumours that, maybe, I repeat, maybe, this whole Twilight thing will be re-told from Edward's point of view, and the draft of it is called "Midnight Sun". Yes. I had the similar idea that this pop-culture phenomenon should be written from Edward's POV, so the male readers (and females too, of course) may get better, and fair picture of the saga. Geez.

p.s: Thanks Aimi for the pre-order tickets.
p.ss: And sure, Nashrah, I will watch this movie on your behalf !

Subject: Do I need anymore reasons to like Britney Jean Spears? (I think not)

Here is Britney's perfomance at the Bambi Awards 2008 in Germany few hours ago. She has performed "Womanizer" and I can't describe the thrill of her perfomance (watch and learn, Aguilerra). She totally looks at her best, but I believe that she walked too much on the stage and the dance moves were little. Click to stream:

But overall, 4.75/5 for her and the crews (and Yes, I'm biased)
The circus has begun!

Don’t forget to breathe. Don’t forget to text her every night. Comb your hair, put on some cologne. Yes, my boy!

Speak up with confidence; don’t let her see the flaws and your heebie-jeebies: kill the butterflies. Yes, my boy!

Time flies and Sparks fly, too. It’s time for him to go; and you’ve started wiping your brow. The words were exchanged, emotions were unleashed.

The guy walked away.  With a broken smile, but he knows that Life is full with Poisons and Honey. He just needs to choose the right elixir. And searching for happiness and Bohemian haven in a grain of sands.

Being alone at home does have many advantages. The day seems longer and the tranquility captivates me to watch movies, series, lectures and read books.

Finally. I've finished re-watching korean soap opera; 'My Girl'. This is so embrassing; but I really hooked to the series. I can watch it over and over again and laugh my head off. (Don't forget the crestfallen, sadistic part!). I plan to watch House season 4 and 5 after this, and maybe Supernatural later on. Geez.

I've wind up reading two books, Sharma's "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" and Hosseini's "A Thousand Splendid Suns" (yay!) and currently, gleefully reading Randa's "Does My Head Look Big In This". I hope I'll able to finish it by this weekend. I vowed myself not to buy any new book(s), not until I finish the unread ones that I've bought. I am so in the mood of reading now.

Kenny started this. I have to start thinking about my next year's resolution (and yes, you too!) The garden-fresh salad days is diminishing every day. Plus, I have no resolutions last year (2008), and yes, I'm a major procrastinator in doing things that I should work on. That's me.

p.s: I've downloaded Circus. Illegally. Ah me.

[LettingGo]

Life sometimes can turn us into the darkest pit of despair. And sometimes, you're attached to a person or a thing or your ego so dearly until you feel so damn hard to build up a new life. It's so painful to walk the path we used to take, to listen to her favourite songs, to watch her favourite movie. It is hard to move forward. Your heart still belong to the past. Prisoned. Chained. You just don't want to feel the pain, you want to let everything go and put them in the past. But the heart is too good in playing tricks. Too agile in cards that It dealt.

We cling ourselves to the past. We cling to everything that is no longer applicable, relevant to ourselves. We cling to everything that we familiar with, places that we're used to. We can't be someone new. We are still here. We are not moving. Not even an inch. Saying goodbye is easy. Letting go is almost impossible.

Sometimes, someone holds to much space when she shouldn't.

Day 3:The Sweat

After I posted the blog in the afternoon, I decided to re-watch 'my girl'. Yes, the Korean series. I had my lunch and yes, it's Nasi Goreng again. I'm so thrilled of cooking/goreng-ing of late. And by the evening, Azri, Aimi, Nazri and me went to the faculty and play badminton. When the pros (Azri and Naz) were playing, Aimi and I sneaked out to the gym and sweat buckets. Hehehe. Bdw, Aimi and I planned to pre-order the TWILIGHT ( now, screaaamm!) tickets this Sunday. 7 or 8 tickets including 'the Beaches' too. And Aimi and me have planned something fun too. I'll reveal later.

Day 4: ikaIKEA

b1

FINALLY, ikaIKEA revealed the exact location of her 'paradise' through an e-mail. Yes, e-mail. I think it would be safer if we learn and use Morse code, Ika. Hahaha.  For some legitimate reasons, jalan ke sorga can't be revealed to the public. Hehehe. And by night, while I was enjoying 'my girl' and get carried away by emotional and laughed my head off, Farah, Ina, Bob and I had some 'conversation' via YM. Geez. Good ol' days. Hahaha! Aimi and me planned something for today's activity;

We're going to IKEA!!

InsyaALLAH, Aimi, Tajul and me are going to IKEA (ikaIKEA) this afternoon. Why afternoon? So I can have my lunch at home first, to cut off some budget. Hehehe! Now, It's 8;16 am. Maybe I should doze off for a few minutes and dream about IKEA. Not ika. Hahaha! bye!

p/s: Azri's going home today. Gonna be alone at home!

Day 1: The Arrival

I arrived in Shah Alam around 3 p.m after a 5 hours nauseating journey from Gerik-Ipoh-Shah Alam. I took a cab and to my suprise, my housemates, Azri and Fifi was still here in Shah Alam. Azri and me went to Tajul's penthouse to 'burn' series of HOUSE. Whilst  criticizing the tidy-ness of Tajul's house, Tatie called me to ask us out to catch GP-506 at Sunway Pyramid. And the movie was great (except there were moments I feel like puking or closed my eyes). I'm not a big a fan of horror/thriller movies, but this movie possessed a quite good story-line and numerous of adrenaline-pumping scenes. Disturbia.

I still wished we watch Madagascar 2 that night. Hahaha.

n1

Day 2: The Hanky-Panky and Yusuf Estes

After we 'survived' watching the movie, around 1:30 am, Azri, Tatie, Nad, Fifi and me still can't get enough, so we decided to roam around a little bit. So we went to Hartamas (Harta-emas?) and grabbed a drink while watching Manchester United's match there. I was informed that this is such a hip place for the rich and famous. Well, you can see people in the same age of me wearing stylish, skimpy cloth. Eventually, I was busy observing people around there than the MU's match and chatting with friends. We went home around 5 am and get some sleep.

After 2 hours of sleeping, I woke up to perform my Subh prayer (around 7am!!!!). Thanks to Tajul for the missed call to wake me up. I took another 1 hour sleep after that.

I re-woke(?) up at 8 am and prepare myself to go to Sheikh Yusuf Estes's talk. I arrived at MBSA around 9:05 am and I bet people can see the red-ness in my eyes due to lack of sleep. Luckily, Sheikh Yusuf Estes was late, so I felt better. Around 9:15 am, he arrived with his daughter and some other fellas and he went straight to the sofa and sit. (yes, he sit whilst preaching). He started everything by teasing the MC of the event, who is a one-year old convert from Haman, if I'm not mistaken. Yusuf Estes is the best preacher/dai'e I've ever listened too. There are two things that I thanked Allah many times in my heart and head;

1. Thanks for dragging me here, to listen and attend this wonderful event,
2. Thanks for the gift of my language, so I can break the language barriers and comprehend the speech.

Initially, he told us the etymology of ISLAM itself, so we will get the real picture of what IS Islam. And he told us something very, very crucial, ISLAM IS NOT A TOLERANT RELIGION. Yes. Because once you devote yourself to Islam, you MUST obey the God's words. There is no choices, no compromises. ISLAM ONLY TOLERANT TO THE OTHER RELIGION, which explained the Quranic verse that told us for centuries that there is NO force for anyone to embrace Islam. Maybe I should explain all these in another special post. Maybe.

Fast forward. I came back home with a real empty stomach and cook NASI GORENG for the very first time. Thanks to my mom who showed me how to. Since this is my maiden trial in preparing fried rice, I classified my cook as 'edible' or fit to be eaten. At least, neither Azri nor me got diarrhea. =)

In the evening, Azri and me went to Tajul's house and bring along the leftovers and chicken nuggets and fries to his house. And by night, we sent Fifi to the bus station and he went home.

Day 3: Undecided

I woke up at 12! And Azri is still sleeping whilst I'm typing this. I'm going take my bath after this and prepare some food because I'm starving. Geez. Everything else is still remain undecided.

[Holiday!!]

~ ~

248267-13-beautiful-sunset-on-the-beach

Holiday can lead me to fatal boredom. In few hours, I'll be boarding a bus for home. Yes. Home sweet home. But I'll be back in Shah Alam soon, very, very soon which id on Saturday, InsyaAllah. On Monday, Nov 23, I'll be attending Sheikh Yusuf Estes' talk at MBSA and I really-really hope that I can shake hands with him. Hehehe.

And by 26th, 27th and 28th November I'll be helping Liyana and two other seniors in an event at Concorde (If I'm not mistaken) Putrajaya. I don't know whether they will provide us with rooms or not, but I really hoped they will. So I can roam around and meet my friends a little. Owh. Not forget to mention, according Miss Witch in High Heels, they'll be paying us RM 100 per day!

RM100 (+ free food/rooms maybe) x 3 = RM 300! Ka-Ching!!
Easy money isn't it?

After that, InsyaAllah I will work on Ethos! Book Club's little bloggie and spruce up my house! I'll be alone at home, so it would be easier for me to tidy up everything! Hehehe! I'm going to turn this house to be a spick-and-span tidy home! ( yea rite!

I'm going to sweat a little to drop some weight (and unnecessary fats) and wind up my remaining, untouched novels. Geez! I can't wait! Nazri and Tajul are also gonna stay at their home, so I can pay them a visit if boredom started to lurk inside me. No qualms!

In conclusion, this is my what-to-do-while-holiday-list!

1. Attend Sheikh Yusuf Estes's talk! (anyone who's interested, buzz me!)
2. Help out Liyana at RM3OO-event!
3. Ethos! Book Club's blog!
4. Sweat a bit! You're getting fat!
5. Tidy up my (our!) little habitat!
6. Wind up books + movies!
7. Re-think, Re-contemplate, Re-everything!

p.s: Owh. Thanks to Izza for (un)willingly search for Van Gogh's posters for me. I'll pay them back! Promise!

That's all, Thank You!

Have a nice holiday, peeps!

Musafir
(beri kekuatan, Ya Allah)

Harusnya ku bisa melupakan,
kerana terlalu penat diri
melantunkan rindu.
Acap kali lidah ku kelu,
terinjak maruah serta imanku
kerana terlalu asyik memburumu.

Kini ku lelah.
Ku kembali menjadi musafir,
haus, letih namun girang
kerana ku pasti,
Hidup adalah merjan-merjan kemungkinan
dan dari seribu kemungkinan,
pasti terpasak satu harapan.

We are alive because of not to stay,

- Saeb-e-Tabrizi

Majalah pula hanyalah Galaxie. Movie pula, Sex and The City, yang saya sudah tonton buat buat kali ketiga. Patutlah terpasung minda ini. Ish.

It's becoming a habit of mine, collecting nice pictures around the net. And because I've saved an immense number of photos I somehow don't even know where's the pictures were from. I found this in my "Trash can" and there are several things that I pondered upon whilst looking at this picture:

1. God is GREAT.
2. Look at the skieeeess! It's soooo bluee!! (notice the excitement!)
3. The clouds are so fluffy and I feel like jumping on them!
4. Such a vast river(?) down there.
5. Some lucky people are enjoying the view and the breeze caresses their body!
6. Where is this place?

Say

Take all of your wasted honor
Every little past frustration
Take all of your so-called problems,
Better put ‘em in quotations

Say what you need to say

Walking like a one man army
Fighting with the shadows in your head
Living out the same old moment
Knowing you’d be better off instead,
If you could only . . .

Say what you need to say

Have no fear for giving in
Have no fear for giving over
You’d better know that in the end
Its better to say too much
Then never say what you need to say again

Even if your hands are shaking
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closing
Do it with a heart wide open

Say what you need to say

[Dogs]

m

I'm quite upset. So I wrote this...

Dogs, eat this.
Life is supposedly to be easy with too many things to enjoy, but sometimes, something can turn to be quite not right. One words you said, dogs enjoy the scuttlebutt about you with 100 other words, and manipulating your emotions. Your words are like bones, they just Love it. They drool for it.

Sometimes they come in nice outfit; another breed of dogs; puppies, chihuahua, labrador, shepherd, etc. 'Owh, they're such a cutie!", and you get yourself fooled. They bit and they pooped, but it's all right, let us clean it up the mess because we know, no matter cute they are, they're still just dogs. woof! woof!

I will give you all the words, I mean the bones, for you to carry home and feast after you're tired searching in every nook and cranny for them. I pity you so much, dogs. But why are you still biting my butt, hands, and legs? Are you still hungry? Maybe I should grab my bow and arrows to shoot you down. Because I feel sorry for your futile efforts. I'm so sorry.

Dear dogs,
I'll always treat you as my pets. Because I knew that you created yourselves that way and you want to be treated that way. Work harder, dogs. Keep biting. Keep kicking. Keep struggling. Maybe you will be lucky enough to get my flesh and bones after this. Who knows? Come on, let me see what you can do. =)

It's ok, dogs. It's my job to forgive you (for now).

I still love you still, dogs.
(as my pets)

Let's go for a walk! Shall we?

p/s: Beware of whom you are bartering/exchanging the bones with. Because they might bite your tail back. Well, that's what your karma bitches and buddies do. Aite?

Hijab.

I try hard not to write anything about this, but since I stumbled upon many blogs about this, I think I should give my opinions about this. This going to be long, I warn you. And I am breaking my promise while typing this.

Here in Malaysia, we have a lot on our platter to feast on. The ‘multi-everything‘ society offers you more than you might see in the neighboring countries. When we talk about women in Islam, it is almost impossible to disconnect the hijab issue that created such huge outcries from the four corners of the world. We can vividly see on the television how the Muslim women fight against the government for their right in donning the headscarves in France. The same issue also risen in Singapore, Canada, Turkey and other countries. And such women who fight for the holy cause, never failed to impress me. And as a Muslim, I'm beyond proud of them.

Malaysia, that's so-called a Muslim country, the hijab is still can be considered as an issue. Indeed, for some Muslims, they consider the obligation of donning the hijab as a ‘litmus test' as whom devout, and who's not. But I strongly oppose that idea because, here in Malaysia, you still can see Muslim girls, clad in Islamic outfit; Hijab and Baju Kurung, commit nasty acts at the park or in the car. These girls, in my opinion, better properly fold their headscarf and put it in their closet because it's such a disgrace to the other women who donned in their Hijab and try hard to preserve the good name of Islam. Period. "At least I wear hijab", that's what some said when they commit such lewd sinful acts in the public.

mew

I try not to prejudge women that clad not in Hijab, because sometimes they are much, much better than those who donned the hijab but knows nothing about the sacred name that tags along with it; Islam. One thing for sure, the debate on Hijab or headscarf or tudung or whatsoever you may call it, will never end. I will never know how hard to put the scarf on because I'm a brother, but I am beyond proud and gratified for you, sisters who donned in hijab and proud of it.

"O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be molested. "(Al-Ahzab: 59)

So, to those who's wearing Hijab and preserving their religion's dignity, I would like to say thank you and may God always give the best for you. And to those who are still hesitate to clad in it, take your time and find some concrete reasons before you make any decisions regarding it but remember, it's a fard.

Happy 20th Birthday, Ban!

I'm bad in memorizing anyone's birthdates, even my mom's and that's why I need an organizer. But, this time, I'm so full of myself because I remembered yours even though I still have to ask Farah and flip my organizer to make myself sure about it. My brain cells are getting older. My bad.

I'm not giving you any presents because I'm broke myself, so I give you some of my words, here in my blog. This is our friendship for the past two years; absurd. There were so much joys and laughter back then, but time changes. Whatever happened between us, three, is too complicated to be understood by others, therefore they jumped into idiotic conclusion. So, we left the memories in silence and sew our mouths shut; because people won't understand anyways. Heck, we did our best to live for tomorrows and leave the past behind, but its clearly easier said than done, right? But still, here we are, still breathing, still kicking and still discovering the secrets that life may offer for us.

You are one of the nicest, honest people I ever met, and please keep yourself that way because that's the best present from a true friend may offer towards the others. Keep your faith strong in God and may Lady Luck be with you throughout the thick and thin.

O joy! Now you're another bloody year older.
Welcome to the club, brotha!

(Hahaha!)

Cinta Adalah Sekelompok Tahi
karya: Hafez Iftiqar Tarmizi

+++

"Oi! Aku nak gerak dulu!" Jerit saya.

"Pergilah! Jangan kacau aku, aku tengah kutip cinta!" Dia membalas.

"Oi! Selamat kutip tahi!" Tempik saya.

"Ini bukan tahi! Ini cinta!" Dia bertempik dengan nada marah. Kali ini dia geram betul lalu dibalingnya setompok cinta, bukan, setompok tahi. Saya mengelak.

Saya terus berlari menyusuri jalan yang panjang itu meninggalkan dia yang khusyuk mengutip setompok demi setompok deretan tahi buat memenuhi bakul berbentuk hati. Pun begitu, saya masih percaya dia salah mendefinisikan cinta. Cinta sepatutnya putih dan bersih. Cinta bukanlah kawanan tahi yang busuk lagi membusukkan. Apa-apalah.... 'Selamat mengutip tahi,' bisik saya, lirih.

[Book-ing]

~ ~

Finally, I successfully wind up wrapping all my (new) books. Now I have plenty of time to start reading, maybe I will kick off with R. Sharma's book first. I missed this month's Readings at Seksan. I really want to go there, and meet some local bloggers and writers. Belum kesampaian hajat dihati ini.

These are the books that I've bought and one of them, "A Beggar at the Gate" is actually a gift from Aimi. Clap! clap! I am looking for more books and more books. I hope I can finish them up this holiday to kill my boredom whilst at home. Here is the list of my money-sucking books:
